Apostle Calvin Brown

Apostle Calvin Lee Brown entered eternal rest on November 4, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a lifetime of service, laughter, and extraordinary faith. Born on January 16, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late David Brown and Mary Anderson, Calvin's life became a living sermon. A sermon preached not only in words but through action, humility, and love. From his early years, he carried an undeniable call to ministry as pastor of the Tabernacle of Prayer Christian Training Center. Over more than five decades, Apostle Brown poured himself into the work of the Gospel-founding churches, mentoring young ministers, and traveling across nations to share the message of Jesus Christ. His heart for missions led him to the Philippine Islands, where his compassion and generosity left an enduring impact on the communities he served. To his family, he was more than a man of God, he was the anchor, the encourager, the one who reminded everyone that joy is a form of worship. To his church, he was a spiritual father whose words restored hope and whose laughter could turn any gathering into a celebration. He is survived by a devoted wife, Dionne Bickham Brown, beloved daughters Alicia Brown, Nahria Brown and Nyla Brown, Grand and Great-grandchildren; siblings Eloise Cushenberry, Edward Brown, Dianne Harvey, Marilyn Hayden, and Martha Harris-Turner; extended family; and countless sons and daughters in faith around the world. Though his voice is silent, his melody continues. Every life he touched bears witness to his favorite truth: that love is the highest calling, and service is the purest form of praise. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, November 14, 2025, for 10:00 a.m. at Church At New Orleans (CANO), 11700 Chef Menteur Hwy., New Orleans, LA 70129.
