Noralee Johnson Mason

On Tuesday afternoon, October 21, 2025, Noralee (Johnson) Mason departed this life and found eternal peace with her heavenly Father. God blessed her with a long life of over 101 years. Noralee was the youngest child of eight children born to the late John (Johnny) and Carrie Johnson in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 21, 1923. Noralee was the wife of Shedrick Dozier until he was called home to be with the Lord. That union produced one daughter. Noralee later met and married William Mason, Sr. and later ended in divorce. Noralee was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and was educated in the Orleans Parish School System. She worked for many years in the New Orleans Hotel industry. Noralee loved the Lord and was a true New Orleanian, she loved to eat home cooked meals, especially seafood and other New Orleans favorites. Noralee's hobby was collecting angles and miniature crystal figurines. She had a good sense of humor and would greet you with a warm smile reflecting her lovable sweet spirit. In her early years she was a member of the Yellow Roses Social and Pleasure Club, she enjoyed preparing for the annual balls and all the festivities throughout the year. The entire family loved her and looked up to her. One of her attributes was knowing how to manage and stretch a dollar. She believed in conserving electricity before it was branded as environmentally friendly. Noralee was affectionately called "Mama" by her daughter, "Grannie" by her grand-children and "Aunt Lee" by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Noralee was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Shedrick Dozier, William Mason, Sr., seven siblings: John, August, Frederick, Robert and Alberta Johnson; Blanch Burnes, and Myrtle Williams. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughter Cynthia Dozier Daggs, son in-law Kenneth Daggs, grand-son Andre Dozier, grand-daughter Kayla Daggs, four great grand-children Keyondre, Kayla, Dillon and Gavin Dozier, goddaughter Darlene Farria, devoted nieces Trinell Farria-Prince, Crystal Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. We can be comforted knowing that Noralee has gone ahead to meet her savior and join with other loved ones. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, November 8, 2025, for 10:00 a.m. at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Ave., New Orleans. LA 70117. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Elder Dwayne Clay, officiating. Interment will follow at Holt Cemetery, 527 City Park Ave, New Orleans, LA 70119.
