76 years ago. On July 3, 2025, he passed peacefully in the Muskogee St.
Francis Hospital, with his family and friends surrounding him in prayer. He attended school in Wagoner and Vinta, Oklahoma, where He
graduated from Vinita High School. After completing High School,
He attended Oklahoma State University, where he met Derryl Riley
who would become his wife. They married and had a child, Ronald Jr.,
and both graduated from Northeastern State University with Chemistry
degrees. Three years later they would have their second child, D'Elbie. Ronald
would begin his career as a process engineer for Corning Glass Works
in Muskogee, Oklahoma. After Corning closed, he worked for Porter Coatings.
In 1985 he accepted his call to the ministry and took a job in Muskogee, at the Workforce Development Office. In 2011, he
retired from the agency after being site Manager for Workforce in Tahlequah and Stilwell.
During his time in Muskogee, he was Chairman of the Muskogee Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Muskogee
City Council for 10 years. He began his journey as a Presbyterian minister at Nelson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. There, He served as a
leader in the denomination for many years. Pastor Venters furthered his education attending Phillips Theological Seminary.
In 1997 he launched out and founded his own ministry, Christ's Kingdom Builders Church, which was non-denominational
Church. Pastor Ron later attended leadership training at Victory Christian Church in Tulsa. He was ordained by Pastor Billy
Joe Daugherty and became a member of the Victory Christian Fellowship.
Pastor Venters served the community as the president of the Ministerial Alliance three times and has been on the executive
Board for over a decade. Pastor Venters felt a call to minister to the nations. He took youth groups to Mexico to do prison ministry.
He met Moses Mbuga in 1998 at a Victory Christian Conference. Moses invited him to come to Uganda. In October of 1999
and he made his first trip to Uganda. Since then he has been to Africa seven times.
Pastor Venters has ministered in five countries. On April 24, 2016, he was ordained Apostle Ronald Venters because of his
obedience to the call to go and take the word of God to all nations of the world. He recently joined the Christian Ministers Union, where he was charged to work on world mission projects.
On January 20, 2025, the Apostle was honored to be named the Grand Marshall of the Martin Luther King Jr. parade. He also
received the Kingdom Ambassador Award and Certificate of Appreciation from the Christian Ministers Union. Apostle Venters is survived by his wife of 55 years, Derryl, his son Ronald Jr. and daughter, D'Elbie; his five grandchildren,
Edward Venters, Callie Venters McGruder, Darnell Walker, Derra Walker, Coby Walker; two great grandchildren, Chozen
McGruder, and Kingston Walker; his brother Lenward Holness (Clarice); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and
spiritual sons and daughters. The Celebratory Service honoring His life will commence on Saturday, July 12, 2025, Two Hours into the Afternoon in the most holy sanctuary of the Christ's Kingdom Builders Church, 1801 Baltimore in Muskogee. You may visit Him, as he slumbers in peaceful repose on Friday, July 11, 2025 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. His Fraternity brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., will hold their memorial ceremony, beginning at 6:11 PM in The People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., The public is invited to attend. The Christian Committal and Burial of Apostle Venters will be on Monday morning, July 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM on the sacred grounds of Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee.
