April Annette Pomeroy, 62, passed away on August 18, 2025 following a sudden and brief illness, surrounded by her family. She was born in San Diego, CA on May 16, 1963 to Marilyn and Lyle Pomeroy. Living the life of a child whose father served in the U.S. Navy, she often played on the beautiful beaches of So. Cal and Hawaii, before moving to enjoy the finer sands of Park Point in Duluth, MN where her father closed out his military career. She was a proud graduate of Denfeld High School, the home of the Hunters! April spent most of her career as a marketing event specialist, her last decade with Lumen (formerly CenturyLink), where she made many friends. While working on her career dreams, she also lended her compassionate heart by providing assistance to people with disabilities or special needs. April was known for her humor and love for having fun, done with a twinkle in her eyes. She was a loving daughter, sister, Auntie and great-aunt, who always showed up in just the right way with a special gift. She demonstrated generosity to her family and to non-profit organizations. She was a passionate sports fan, especially for her MN Vikings, and she never liked to lose at any game that she played. She had a great flair for decorating and enjoyed outdoor activities, one time roller-blading from Hinckley to Duluth in the two day 75 mile fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis. April is survived by her brothers Scott and Tom (Carrie), nephew Tyler, nieces Angela (Shane), Nicole (Zach), and Natalie (Jon) and her adorable great-nieces (Abby, Emmy, Makayla, Autumn, Lucy, Chloe, Pippa and Ruby) and great-nephews (Hunter, Jack, Nash and Theo). She was preceded in death by her father Lyle, mother Marilyn and nephew Scott, Jr. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Epiphany (1900 111th Ave NW Coon Rapids, MN 55433) at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 2nd, with one hour of visitation prior to Mass, and luncheon to follow at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Minnesota 100 Club, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing financial assistance to the families of peace officers, firefighters, correctional officers, and EMS who live and serve in Minnesota and who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty while protecting our lives and property. https://mn100club.org, or Give to Rise - Rise https://share.google/93ClNPj9dny0gQo4Q
