April Dawn Proffitt, 50, of Columbus, GA, passed away on January 30, 2026. A private service will be held at a later date.
April Proffitt was born on April 10, 1975, in Columbus, GA, to Danny Preston Anderson and the late Pamela Rogers. April was talented at writing poems in her younger years and enjoyed painting as a hobby later on. She enjoyed traveling and was very outgoing. She loved to socialize and lit up every room she entered with her bright and optimistic character. April had a great sense of humor and was loyal to those she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
April is preceded in death by her mother, Pamela Rogers and her maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her father, Danny Anderson; step-mother, Cindy Anderson who helped to raise her and always loved her as her own; sons, Bryce Proffitt and Danny Proffitt; brother, Daniel Preston Anderson (Kendall); sister, Darby Mangrum (Michael); sister and close friend, Cheryl Proffitt; and aunts, Kim McClain, Jean Shores, and Pat Taylor.
