April Ann Scott, age 40, went to Heaven to be with her mother and grandparents on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
April was born March 7, 1983, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is a graduate of Richard King High School and attended college at Texas AM Corpus Christi. April's light shined bright. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was vastly intelligent, witty (comically so) and you could always count on her for a friendly debate over whatever the current events or trends may be. April had a passion for reading. When asked what her least favorite school subject was, she would reply, "Recess!" Although a lover of all animals, April adored her cats (lots of cats) the most. She often rescued stray litters and bottled fed them until they were healthy enough for placement in "furever" homes. April also cherished family traditions like Thanksgiving at Aunt Jenna's. Christmas at Dad's and cooking/Bar-B-Queing for family and friends. She was a Pitmaster; refused to use a gas grill!
April was preceded in death by her mother, Laurie Scott and by her Grandparents, Guy & Lorin Scott and David & Barbara Warren. She is survived by her father and stepmother, Kevin & Lenora Scott; sister, Amber Scott; stepsisters, Kelly Gillen and Kristi Cannon (Billy Doris); Aunts, Lynne (Wally) Taylor and Jennifer (Vance) Hoskinson, numerous cousins; and her friend and partner in life, William Walker.
April will be greatly missed by her family and all that were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.
