Archie William Pierce

Archie William Pierce, 92 of Hampstead died August 12, 2023, two days after his wife, Elma Blanton Pierce at his home in Hampstead.
Mr. Pierce was born February 17, 1931 in Onslow County to the late Edward James Pierce and Marjorie Florence Padgett and was also preceded in death by his son William Keith Pierce died July 26, 2023, seven Brothers and two sisters.
Archie spent much of his time outdoors, many days you could find him tinkering with his tractor or hanging out with his chickens. That's if he wasn't in his garden of course. He had a beautiful garden every summer. He loved growing food that people could sit down and enjoy together. Having a meal with his family was one of his favorite things.
Archie was a devoted member of his Primitive Baptist Church family.
Funeral services will be held for Mrs. and Mrs. Pierce, 2:00 PM Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Spring Primitive Baptist Church, Highway 50, Maple Hill, with Elder, Stacy Pierce and Elder Aubrey Pierce doing the preaching. Graveside services will follow the church services at the Pierce Family Cemetery Highway 50, Maple Hill.
Surviving; Daughter, Suzanne Szalkiewicz and her husband Mike of Leland and one son Archie Allen Pierce of Hampstead. One sister, Mary Alice Best of Greenville, 14 grandchildren, her oldest granddaughter, Samantha (Jon), who held a very special place in her Nannie and Papa's heart, Joseph, AJ (Brittany), Gage, Alex Hope, Mikey, Donovan (Tracey), Brittney, Salifaye, Rochelle, William, Nicholas, Hunter and Erika, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
The family will receive family and friends at the church from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM the day of the services.
