Archie "Buddy" Rardon - age 65 of Polo, MO passed away Monday afternoon, March 24, 2025, at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City. Archie was born on December 18, 1959, the son of Arnold Dean "Rusty" and Carole (McClendon) Rardon in Convington, KY. He grew up in Covington, Lawson, MO and Polo. He was a 1979 graduate of Polo High School. In his youth he was active in Boy Scouts and FFA. Archie served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Egypt near the Red Sea on the USS Harkness. He married Kelly Moppin on June 6th, 2009, on the bridge at Stagecoach Park in Polo. Archie worked as a diesel mechanic at Halaburton, TWA as a machinist and Central Diesel as a mechanic. He also owned Rardon Auto and worked as a machinist for American Airlines before retiring. Archie loved to go fishing and hunting; particularly coon hunting. He enjoyed football and wrestling. Archie made knives and arrowheads and liked to fix old cars. He was a member of the Polo American Legion Post #557. Archie's presence and orneriness will be missed by all that knew him.
Archie was preceded in death by his mother, Carole Rardon and brother, Jamie Rardon. He is survived by his wife Kelly Rardon of the home; daughters, Baylee Moran of Polo, MO and Jacey Curtis of Richmond, MO; five grandchildren, Hadlee, Journee, Zeke, Zayvier, and Bane; his father, Rusty Rardon of Polo, MO; siblings, Juaneta Carr (Gary) of Polo, MO and Robert "Charley" Rardon of Polo, MO; nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Polo Youth Wrestling in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating Archie's life will be held at Noon, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Polo. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home in Polo (660) 354-2214.
