Ardell “Bud” Till, 91, of Bellevue, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 3 at 10:30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Bud’s family will greet friends Wednesday, July 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue with a Bellevue Fire Department Walk through at 6:30 pm. Additional visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 prior to Mass at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue.

Ardell was born January 28, 1934 in Bellevue. He was the son of Wilfred and Hilda (Sieverding) Till along with one brother and four sisters. He married his wife of 65 years, Joyce Weis, on October 3, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue where they raised their four children together.

Ardell graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1952. Upon graduation, he started working for his father as a mechanic at Till’s Garage. On January 3, 1973 he became co-owner with his father of Till’s Garage. He was honored to be the dealer-operator for Chevrolet for 40 years, and Buick for 50 years. Ardell was involved in and enjoyed many activities through the years, including a member of the Iowa Auto Dealers Association and over 20 years in the Bellevue Fire Department and the Bellevue 4th of July Heritage Days. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports, golfing with his friends, attending and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, singing in the Church Choir, and singing in the High School Choir starting in 1948. Most of all, he loved traveling and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joyce; his children, Tim (Lisa) Till, Rick (Ann) Till, Steve “Fiz” (Renee) Till, and Amy (Glenn) Ernst; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marlene Hilgendorf, Darla (James) Krause, Jerry (Cheryl) Till, and Linda (Bill) Bednarz; a brother-in-law, David Kane.

Ardell was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Brandon Till; great-grandchild, Colton Ernst; sister, Mary Beschen; brothers in-law, Raymond Beschen, James Hilgendorf, and Eldon Weis; sisters in-law, Elaine Till and Colleen Kane; and a grandson in-law, Collin Long.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque for their care and concern during this time.
