Ardelle M. (Lord) "Shorty" Master, 90, of Alburtis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025 in Keystone Villa, Blandon. She was the widow of Howard A. Master, Sr., who died on October 1, 2015.
Born in Reading, Ardelle was a daughter of the late Henry W. Lord and Anna V. (Shupp) Lord. Shorty was employed in the Department of Environmental Services at The Lutheran Home at Topton, for several years until her retirement in 1992. Shorty enjoyed cooking and spending time at her home, whether it was outside gardening, mowing her grass or her favorite past time weed whacking. Above all, Shorty loved her family. She lived a life rich with compassion, wisdom, and an unwavering spirit that deeply touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Shorty is survived by her children, Walter H. A., husband of Lillian (Schleicher) Master, Palm, Ralph A., husband of Mary (Reichert) Master, Alburtis, and Kimberly A. (Master) Seidel, Blandon; sister, Cooki Lord, Laureldale; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren ; two great-great grandchildren; and dear family friend, Victor Desiderio. Along with her husband and parents, Shorty was predeceased by two children, Jolynn Master in 1962 and Howard A. Master, Jr. in 2005; and siblings, Richard H. Lord, Jeanette (Lord) McNeill, Ronald Lord, Raymond Lord, Anna Viola (Lord) Henry, Margaret (Drupp) Knarr, Georgeann D. (Drupp) Gaynor, and Earl Drupp, Jr.
A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, March 30, 2025 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 E. Weis Street, Topton, PA. A funeral service to celebrate and honors Shorty's life will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 31st with The Reverend Nicholas Pence officiating. Burial will be held privately by her family.
