Arden Ellis Reeves, 76, formerly of Oakland, MD, passed away on November 10, 2025. Born on June 19, 1949, in Bloomington, MD, he was the son of the late Robert Cecil and Patricia Jean (Wilt) Reeves.
Arden, a graduate of Bruce High School, built a fulfilling career as an electrician and carpenter before retiring. A devout Catholic by faith, he was actively involved in veterans' organizations, holding memberships in the VFW, American Legion, and VVA, as well as the Bass Masters club. His leisure pursuits centered around the outdoors and craftsmanship, with a passion for hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He also loved music and was a skilled guitar and banjo player. Arden's commitment to his country was evident through his service in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, followed by an additional seven years in the US National Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Loretta Marie (Smith) Reeves; two children, Benjamin Reeves and wife Sheila of Rural Hall, NC, and Jennifer Kirby and husband Jesse of Winston Salem, NC; three grandchildren, Mallory Needham, Ava Needham, and Lola Needham; and three sisters, Dawna Hartman and husband Rick, Ruth Turner and husband Jeff, and Leisa Kalanish and husband Alex.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Tom Reeves, Wayne Reeves, Robert Reeves, and Wanda Swick; and his twin daughters, Eva and Eve.
Friends will be received on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends and family will also gather for a meal at the American Legion after the service.
