It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Area Julia D'Esposito, known affectionately as Adj, who left us on Thursday, August 23, 2024, at the age of 90 in Oakhurst, New Jersey. Born on December 1, 1933, in Ocean Grove, New Jersey, Adj dedicated her life to her family.
A proud graduate of Neptune High School, Adj furthered her education at Susquehanna University. She spent many years as a medical secretary before embracing the cherished role of homemaker, nurturing and loving her family with all her heart.
Adj was a devout member of Saint Michael's Church in Long Branch, New Jersey.
She brought joy and laughter to family gatherings with her love for card games especially 500 gin rummy. An avid sports fan, Area never missed a chance to see her favorite teams, the New Jersey Devils and the New York Yankees with her daughters and grandchildren.
Her favorite player to watch was Bernie Williams. In 2009, Adj attended the World Series to watch the Yankees win the championship.
Summers were particularly dear to Adj, as she created lasting memories traveling to Martha's Vineyard with her daughters and grandchildren, moments that will be treasured by all who shared those joyful times.
Adj leaves behind a profound legacy of love and kindness. She is survived by her sister Alba Kowalski; her children, Christopher and Denise D'Esposito and Genni Gabrysiak; and her adoring grandchildren, Christopher Santo D'Esposito, Chelsea Cruz, Walter John Gabrysiak,
Karly Gabrysiak and Emma Jiorle. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pasquale D'Esposito; her brother Areo Regoli; and her sister Aurora Cheeseman.
Adj will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her warmth and love.
Visiting will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Fiore-Buckley Funeal Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 am Thursday at St. Michael's Church in West End, Long Branch. Entombment will be at St. Catharine's Cemetery in Wall Township.
