PITTSBORO - Aribert M. Kauf passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, in Pittsboro, NC, at the age of 97. Born on March 20, 1928, Aribert led a life marked by dedication to both his family and his work. He was married to Geraldine Gross, who preceded him in death. Together they raised two children: Emily Kauf Whitman, who also preceded him in death, and Larry Kauf, who resides in Little Elm, TX. Aribert had a distinguished career that began at General Electric, where he contributed to missile design. In 1960, he embarked on a new path by founding his own appliance business, which he operated for 60 years before retiring—a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Aribert was deeply involved in youth development through his role as an Explorer Post 93 Advisor with the Boy Scouts. His guidance left a lasting impact on many young lives. He is remembered with love by his son-in-law Dr. Bruce Whitman; grandchildren Michael Whitman, Charlene “Charlie” Whitman-Barr, Brandon Kauf, and Tiffany Garcia; and great-grandchildren Zachery and Jackson Whitman, Evelyn Barr, and Amelia Garcia. Aribert’s legacy lives on through the generations of family who carry forward his values of perseverance and service. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
