Arkie M. Bennett, 80, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Longview, Texas. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Arkie's vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

Born in 1945 to Charles and Mary McCoy, Arkie retired from Warner Electric in Marengo, Illinois, where she worked with dedication for many years. After retirement, Arkie and her beloved husband, Thomas Bennett, settled in Cadiz, Kentucky, where she embraced the joys of Southern living. A devout Christian, Arkie found solace and strength in her faith, which guided her through life's joys and challenges.

Arkie was a woman of boundless energy, rarely staying still for long. She poured her heart into tending her home and vibrant yard with pride. Her love for beauty extended to the deep connections she fostered with her many friends, especially her dear friends Kathy and Linda.

Arkie is survived by her sons, Mike (Debbie) Roberts of Loves Park, Illinois, and Ed (Cindi) Bennett, Texas; her sisters, Bonnie Cheek and Betty McCoy; her grandchildren, Amanda (Steve) Sink, Travis Roberts, Kara (Lucas) Owens, Chelsea Wells, and Nick Wells; and her great-grandchildren, Paul and Camron Bennett, Ivan and Linzy Sink, Charlotte Owens, Romeh, and Emiliano Manjarrez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary McCoy; her husband, Thomas Bennett; her sisters, Norma Jean, Pauline, and Louise; her sons, James Roberts and Billy Roberts; and her grandson, Michael Roberts II.

The family plans to hold a private memorial service in 2026 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where Arkie will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Thomas.

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
