Arlene M. Davidson
At the remarkable age of 103 Arlene M. Davidson of Plum Borough, PA was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Harrison Davidson, Jr., a loving mother to Cheyne and caring mother-in-law to Tiziana. As a devoted and affectionate grandma to Alissa and Nicole she brought boundless love and joy into their lives. She also holds a special place in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Arlene was a strong and resilient woman, deeply grounded in her Christian faith. She served courageously as a nurse in the U.S. Navy nurse corps during the Second World War. It was during this time that she met her beloved husband, with whom she later on devoted herself to serving the Lord as a missionary in Africa.
Upon returning from the mission field overseas, the Davidsons settled on a family farm in Plum Borough. Arlene began working as a public health nurse for Allegheny County. Her work among the poorer families in the greater Pittsburgh area was considered by her to be a mission field at home. Throughout her life she was an active member in the community of the Monroeville United Methodist Church.
Known for her sweet tooth, she was always up for dessert, enjoying the simple pleasures of life with a smile. She also had a deep love of music and found joy in playing the organ and listening to her son sing.
Her deep faith and commitment to others were reflected in every aspect of her life and she will be greatly missed.
The burial will be private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monroeville United Methodist Church, 219 Center Road, Monroeville, PA 15146. Please add or view tributes at www.jobefuneralhome.com
