Arlene Gibbs of Pine City passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at St. Clare Community Living in Mora at the age of 98.
Arlene Phyllis Erickson was born to Axel and Florence (Legrid) Erickson in St. Paul, Minnesota. Arlene was affectionately known as "Toots" and had two siblings, Lawrence "Sonny" and Anita "Sis".
She met and married her lifelong love, Edwin Charles Gibbs and raised two wonderful children. Together they enjoyed a fulfilling 73 years of marriage until Edwin’s death in 2020. She loved sports, reading, and especially being with family and friends.
At the age of 98, Arlene continued to be a savvy conversationalist who kept up with the times. Her thoughtful nature and infectious laugh will be missed by all who knew her.
Arlene is survived by her daughter Barbara Fida of Belleaire Bluffs, Florida; grandchildren Aaron Gibbs of Oakdale, Dan (Jenny) Gibbs of Shafer, Jason (Melissa) Gibbs of St. Paul; great grandchildren Caden Gibbs, Laney Gibbs; daughter-in-law Norma Gibbs of Centerville; many other loving family members and dear friends.
Arlene looked forward to being reunited with those who preceded her in death including her husband, Edwin Gibbs; son Robert Gibbs; son-in-law Paul Fida; nephews Phillip Erickson, Matthew Erickson.
