Jerry Kubesh passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2025 at his home in Pine City, Minnesota.
Jerry Thomas Kubesh was born November 12, 1958 to Carl and Elizabeth (Schumacher) Kubesh in Rush City, Minnesota.
He grew up in Beroun, attended Country School, and then the Pine City Schools, leaving in the tenth grade to help with the farm. He joined the military when he was 20 and served for 23 years. He was also an over-the-road truck driver for 20+ years.
He enjoyed darts, bowling, horseshoes, fishing, and spending time with family and grandkids. He also enjoyed polka music, dancing, cribbage, and deuces wild. He loved the Minnesota Vikings.
Jerry was real and blunt. He liked to joke around and have fun. Even after he got sick he kept his sense of humor.
Jerry is survived by his children Elizabeth (Joe) Lasser of Woodbury, Daniel (Andrea) Kubesh of Luverne; significant other Marilyn Kingen; grandchildren Damian, Candon, Siarra, Zoey, Paige, Julian, Destiny; great grandson Jackson; siblings Clair (Linda) Kubesh of Mora, Mike (Linda) Kubesh of Hinckley, Mary Countryman of Coon Rapids; sister-in-law Denise Kubesh of Markville; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Carl Kubesh; mother and step-father Elizabeth and Tom Stancyk; siblings Gregory Kubesh, Mark Kubesh, Robert "Butch" Kubesh, Catherine Champlin, Rita (Clayton) Pavek, and Margaret (Jack) Roubinek.
Father Thomas Galarneault will officiate funeral services for Jerry: 3:00 PM; Tuesday (9/16), One hour prior to the service a visitation will take place with a time of sharing starting at 2:30 PM. All services will take place at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. Jerry will be interred in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery of Beroun with military honors provided by the Minnesota Army National Guard, Novak-Milliren VFW Post #4258, and Heath-Perkins American Legion Post #51.
Following the burial, a reception luncheon is planned at the Pizza Pub in Pine City.
