Arlene Joyce Heimer, age 83, of Austin, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, surrounded by family at Mayo Clinic Health System Austin.
Arlene was born on November 17, 1941, in Austin, MN, to Urban and Alyce Klapperick. She graduated from Pacelli High School in 1959. She was married to Myron Heimer, they later divorced. Arlene lived in Rochester, MN, where she worked at Kmart until she retired and returned to Austin.
She enjoyed knitting and garage sales with her sister, Mary Ann Heimer, and Diet Pepsi. Most of all, she cherished time spent with friends and family—especially her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Urban and Alyce Klapperick; her brothers, Richard and Tony Klapperick; her sister, Mary Ann Heimer; her brother-in-law, Francis Heimer; and her infant granddaughter, Haley Heimer.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Heimer of Austin and Todd Heimer of West Concord; her daughter, Susan (Jared) Heimer of Austin; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Arlene’s life will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 107 11th St NE, Austin, MN 55912. A private family interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family or to a charity of your choice. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
