Mrs. Hoover was born March 30, 1928 in Saginaw, York County, a daughter of the late Solomon and Sadie (Hoover) Ely. She had been employed in housekeeping at Barley Nursing Home and Manor Care East in York.
Arlene is survived by her son David W. Hoover; a son-in-law Ronald Herman; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
She was the last-surviving of 11 children and is also preceded in death by a daughter Linda M. Herman.
A viewing will be 10- 11 a.m. Wednesday at John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. 902 Mt. Rose Ave. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Guiliano officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
