Arlene A. (Schappell) Kline, 88, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025. She was the loving wife for over 71 years to Daniel C. Kline, who passed away on March 17, 2025.

Born in Windsor Township to the late Walter and Elda (Kerchner) Schappell, Arlene attended Hamburg High School.

Arlene worked at the Hamburg Center as an administrative assistant, eventually retiring after many years of dedicated work. In recognition of her encouraging way and uplifting demeanor, she was named "Employee of the Year."

A devoted wife and mother, Arlene treasured her family. Her strong Christian faith guided much of her life. She was an active member of Zion's Church and frequently volunteered at Opportunity House in Reading. She was a gifted home cook and baker and often fielded many requests from friends and family for their favorite meals and treats. A very detail-oriented person, Arlene always remembered everyone's birthday and made sure to send a card.

Arlene's memory will be treasured by her children: Jeannette Cummings (Michael) of Bonney Lake, WA; Michael Kline of Reading; and Suzanne Kline of Hamburg; grandchildren: Sean Cummings, Alexandra Simmons, Benjamin Kline, Jonathan Kline, and Mya Kline; and great grandchildren, Francis, Theodore, Augustus, Julian, Catalina, and Kendall. She is also survived by her siblings, Marie Sholl, Gerald Schappell, Karen Hoffman, and Larry Reichert, as well as her nieces, nephews, and their families.

In addition to her beloved husband, Dan, and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Warren Schappell, and sisters, Ruth Dunkel and Pauline Rollman.

Services for Arlene will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home and Crematory, 40 S 4th St, Hamburg PA 19526, with committal to follow at St. Paul's Smoke Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
