Arlene Edna Maines, 88, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky.
Arlene Maines was a devoted wife, mother, and friend who lived a life centered around family, faith, and community. A graduate of Dayton High School, she worked as an executive secretary and later as a substitute teacher in Dayton Schools, always offering her care and support to others. Her faith was at the heart of her life, offering her strength, peace, and direction, and it shaped the way she lived and loved.
She married Irv Maines on September 15, 1956, and together they raised four children - two sons and two daughters. Arlene and Irv shared a love of square dancing, often enjoying evenings filled with music and laughter.
More than anything, Arlene loved spending time with her family. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by those she loved, and she will be remembered for her warmth, her gentle spirit, and the love she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by husband, Irvin Lee Maines, daughter, Karen (Gary) Fryman, granddaughter, Jennifer Maines-Gundrum. Arlene is survived by her children; Keith (Terri) Maines, Kevin (Kimberly) Maines, and Kiplie (Dave) Culp, Grandchildren; Krista, Gary, Kyrie, Kyle, Christen, Elizabeth, Jackson, great-grandchildren; Emma, Cory, Olivia, Wade, Julian, Daphne, and Caitlyn, great-great-grandson, Zakiah.
Visitation will be held 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, October 13, 2025 at Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, 241 Fairfield Ave. Bellevue, KY 41073. A funeral ceremony will be Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 12:30 pm at the Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Erlanger, Kentucky.
