Newmarket - Arlene R. O'Connor, 96, formerly of Packers Falls Road died peacefully July 3, 2025, at Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood. Born March 17, 1929, in Lebanon County, PA, she was the daughter of Paul W. and Mary (Nye) Hipple. She was raised in Falmouth, PA and was a 1946 graduate of Bainbridge High School. She resided in Bainbridge until moving to New Hampshire in 1978. Arlene worked for United Engineers in Seabrook and Newington, as well as Marelli's, the Lee Village Store, and Macy's. She was a member of the Newmarket Community Church and was a volunteer for the food pantry and thrift store for many years. She was also a regular at the Newmarket Senior Center playing BINGO. Arlene's greatest joy was being a grandma to her granddaughters, spending as much time with them as possible. Arlene was predeceased by her husband of 64 years Bernard (Jake) O'Connor; by a son, Mark E. O'Connor; and by her sisters Paula Haseltine and Jean Craun. Survivors include her son, Kevin M. O'Connor and his wife Rachelle of Houston, TX; daughter, Jacene Mongeon and her husband James of Newmarket; five granddaughters, Olivia Latham and Margaret and Kate O'Connor, and Heather and Samantha Mongeon; sisters Joyce Snyder of Elizabethtown, PA and Lois Straub of Manheim, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staffs of the Rockingham County Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Brentwood and Brookhaven Hospice for the care they gave her the during the last few months of her life. A visiting hour will be held on Saturday, July 12th from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory, 77 Exeter Road (Route 108), Newmarket, NH. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newmarket, NH Community Church Food Pantry or to the Newmarket Fire and Rescue Department.
