Arlene Palmer Obituary

Visit the Powell Funeral Home, Inc. website to view the full obituary.

Arlene Martin Palmer of Crystal Hill passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born in Halifax County on August 25, 1938 to the late Willie Lawrence Martin and the late Lona M. Martin. She was married 63 years to Charlie David Palmer who survives.

She was a member of Crystal Hill Southern Baptist Church. Arlene was a past postal clerk at Crystal Hill Post Office as well as farming alongside her husband. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing food for her family; she also enjoyed going “antiquing”. Her passing will leave a void to all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband; two children, Teresa Palmer and Charles David Palmer both of Crystal Hill; one sister, Shelby Martin of Lansdale, PA; host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Maynard Martin.

A funeral will be held on November 22, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Crystal Hill Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Long officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
