Mrs. Ruth Raynor Millner of Vernon Hill passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025 at the age of 78. She was born in Halifax County on May 29, 1947 to the late Clarence Preston Raynor and the late Rosie Hardy Raynor. She was married for sixty-three years to Robert Beverly Millner who survives.
Ruth was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Beverly Sparks (Billy) of Sutherlin, Tony Millner of Vernon Hill; four grandchildren, Cody Sparks (Magin), Casey Sparks, Chris Sparks (Amber) and Justin Millner (Katie); six great grandchildren; brother, Donald Raynor (Sandie); host of nieces, nephews and extended family and her beloved pet dog, Bo. She was preceded in death by siblings, Lena Mae Raynor, Lewis Preston Raynor, Dewey Thomas Raynor, Charles Paul Raynor, and Bobby Glen Raynor; one grandson, Preston Millner
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Simpson and Pastor Daniel Peters officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at 2021 Henry’s Mill Rd, Vernon Hill.
