Arlene N. Perrigo

RICHVILLE – Arlene N. Caswell Perrigo, age 89, of Richville, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT.

Arlene was born in Canton, NY, the daughter of the late Andrew and Flora (Taylor) Caswell. She was a 1954 graduate of Canton High School and married the love of her life, Edwin L. Perrigo on July 2, 1954, at the Gouverneur Methodist Church. The couple moved to the village of Richville in 1956 where they raised their five children.

Arlene was a loving and devoted homemaker and Mother. Once her children were older, she worked with her husband in their family businesses, Eddie's Collision and M.E.M. Auto. For many years Arlene enjoyed spending time at their camp on Pleasant Lake in the town of Champion. In her free time, she enjoyed camping, bowling, crocheting and working in her flower garden. For several years she served as an election inspector for the Town of DeKalb and the Village of Richville.

Arlene is survived by her five children: Michael & Susan Perrigo, S. Colton, NY; Diane & Stephen Mobilia, Nashua, NH; Donna & Kevin Brown, Greenville, SC; Dawn & Kevin Rebello, Nashua, NH; Martin & Barbara Perrigo, Mooresville, NC; Three brothers: Karl & Peggy Caswell, George Caswell and Keith & Sue Caswell; Three sisters: Iona & William Brewer, Arvilla & Vernon Aldous and Leda Perkins and her partner Ken Glossenger; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Caswell; a brother-in-law, Richard Miller; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Arlene is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Edwin Perrigo, and a son, James Perrigo, who died shortly after birth; two brothers Alson and Orrin Caswell and four sisters, Alberta Burke, Helen Downey, Dorothy Morrison and Alma Miller.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held at the Gouverneur Elk's Lodge on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Arlene's memory can be made to Richville Fire and Rescue, PO Box 51 Richville, NY 13681 or to the McClure Miller Respite House 3113 Roosevelt Highway Colchester, VT 05446.
