Arlene was born on April 19, 1944 to Isamu "Lefty" and Ethel Okazaki. Arlene was a proud graduate of Farrington High School. Arlene worked for the City and County of Honolulu with the Corporation Counsel. Arlene then decided to venture into an opportunity selling Tupperware, which she still was doing upon leaving us. Arlene finally retired as a court reporter with the City and County of Honolulu. Although retired, Arlene continued to keep herself busy and worked at Sakuma Realty. Alongside working and selling Tupperware, Arlene was an active volunteer for the Sony Open, Lotte Championship, and numerous golf tournaments. Arlene traveled the world and sometimes even served as a tour escort. Arlene was an active volunteer as a retiree for the Hawaii Government Employees Association. Arlene was an active member and participated in many services with the Lions Club International. The last position Arlene held was Secretary for the Moanalua Lions Club, for which she traveled to Orlando for the International Lions Convention.
Arlene is survived by her two sons, Ricky and Robby (Nahono) Shimokawa and grandchildren Stacy (Oscar Faivre), Rachel, Reina, and Ryan Shimokawa. Arlene was the eldest sibling to Warren Okazaki, Joyce Mikami, Leila (Ryoichi) Kumei, Clytie (Russell) Kaneshiro, and Craig Okazaki.
