Arlene Ann Gauger Stepka, 86, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at her residence, in Staunton.
She was born on January 26, 1939, in Paterson, New Jersey to the late John Martin, Sr. and Viola Bolmer Reape Gauger.
Arlene was a devoted mother who raised her four daughters single-handedly. Her children were always at the forefront of her life, and she took great joy in the time spent with them, especially during her frequent visits, which she deeply treasured.
In addition to her role as a mother, Arlene had a passion for the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed playing Bingo and engaging in card games.
She is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Spriggs of Florida, Charlene Harris of Pennsylvania, Corinne Whorley (Samuel) of Virginia, and Doreen Santo of Pennsylvania; her sister, Kathryn Gauger DeMaurex; her sixteen grandchildren; and her nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, John Martin Gauger, Jr. and James Martin Gauger.
