Arley Edgar Hamilton III, died May 20, 2022 on his 86th birthday at The Highlands, Topsham, ME.
Arley was born in New Haven, CT. He resided in Connecticut for 50 years, and in Massachusetts for 32 years and Maine for the past 3 years.
Arley was the son of the late Arley E. Hamilton Jr. and Jeanette Crossland Hamilton.
He was the beloved husband of Ann M. C. Hutchinson for 62 years and father of Holly Hamilton of Danbury, CT, Heather Hamilton and her husband Newell Augur of Yarmouth, ME, Dirk Hamilton and his wife Jennifer of Arlington, VA, Arley Hamilton IV and his wife Devon of Mattapoisett, MA and Scott Hamilton and his wife Allison of Severna Park, MD.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Andre Boucher, Kelli Boucher, Alexandra Augur, Sutter Augur, Christopher Augur, Tyler Hamilton, Cameron Hamilton, Jonathan Hamilton, Jackson Hamilton, Sydney Hamilton and Morgan Hamilton and 3 great grandchildren, Henri Boucher, Oliver Boucher and Lily Boucher.
After graduating from Milford High School in 1955, he served in the US Navy from 1955-63 in VP-2 Squadron and was a graduate of The University of New Haven. He was employed by AT&T for 45 years and the Country Club of New Bedford for 5 years.
He was an active church member wherever he lived. He also was a Scout Master of the Boy Scouts of America, Clinton Jaycees and the VP-2 Assoc.
He enjoyed golfing, skiing, camping and hiking.
He was the brother of Amy Van Arsdale of Milford, CT, Gary Hamilton of Stratford, CT and Danny Hamilton of Gaylordville, CT.
Service and burial will be private. Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery in Rochester,MA.
