Armando Valenzuela

Armando Valenzuela, 76, of Cedar Lake, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on October 3rd, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in the Harbor of East Chicago, Armando built a life filled with hard work, love, and laughter. He later settled in Cedar Lake, where he and his wife, Grace, made their home and shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Together they raised a beautiful family grounded in faith, love, and togetherness.
Armando was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Pricilliana Valenzuela, and his brothers Jose Luis, Victor, and sister Carmen Jackman. He is survived by his devoted wife, Grace; his children, Alex (Heather) Valenzuela, Jacqueline (James) Green, and Elizabeth (Tony) Wise and his 11 beloved grandchildren - Isabella, Julian, James Jr, Noah, Luca, Levi, Anthony, Vincent, Giovanni, Emilio, and Isla - who brought endless joy and pride to his life. He is also survived by his sisters Raquel (Francisco) Zambrano and Alicia (Bill) Stolte sister-in-law Patty Valenzuela, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.
Armando retired from Inland Steel after 32 years of dedicated service. After retirement, he continued his passion for working with people through real estate. He was also proud to serve as Scoutmaster for Cedar Lake Troop 105, helping guide and mentor many young boys through the values of scouting.
In his free time, Armando loved to fish, strum his guitar, and spend time with family - often surrounded by laughter, stories, and good food. He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and gentle heart.
Armando was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His love will remain deeply rooted in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
A celebration of Armando's life will be held on October 26th at 2pm at 685 Pebble Ln, Hebron, IN 46341. We will gather to share some of our favorite stories, memories and remember the wonderful person he was. All are welcome.
