Veremundo Valenzuela Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 7, 2025.
Veremundo Guerrero Valenzuela, a cherished pillar of the Jalpa, Zacatecas community, left this world on September 29, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family in the town where he was born and where he breathed his last. Born on December 22, 1938, Veremundo's life was marked by the same dedication and care he bestowed upon the fertile lands he tended. His passion for farming and gardening was not only his vocation but also his way of bringing beauty and sustenance to those around him.
Veremundo's legacy is carried on by his large and loving family, including the memory of his devoted wife, Monica Calzada Guerrero, whose love and support were a cornerstone of his life, and his children, each of whom reflects a facet of his enduring spirit: Yolanda Cope, Rosa Maria Viramontes, Jose Guerrero, Maria Guadalupe Lopez, Maria del Refugio Hernandez, Angela Maria Villamizar, Aurelio Guerrero, Cudberto Guerrero, Veremundo Guerrero, Francisco Javier Guerrero, Juan Pablo Guerrero and Monica Barrientos. Each of his children has been touched by Veremundo's resilience, kindness, and the deep connection he fostered with the earth and its cycles.
A man of the soil, Veremundo's life was a testament to the virtues of hard work and patience. He was known to rise with the sun, his hands working the earth with an almost sacred reverence. His gardens were a tapestry of color and his fields a testament to his skill and tenacity. Yet, despite the demands of his work, he always had time for his family and friends, embodying the generosity and warmth of the Mexican heartland.
Veremundo's presence was a constant in the community of Jalpa, where he was respected for his wisdom and sought after for advice. His understanding of the land and its ways was unparalleled, and he shared this knowledge freely, enriching the lives of many. His was a life intertwined with the natural world, and his respect for it was evident in every plant he nurtured and every harvest he reaped.
As we bid farewell to Veremundo Guerrero Valenzuela, we remember a man whose hands shaped the earth and whose heart shaped the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of growth-both in the fields he cultivated and in the hearts of his family. Veremundo's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories told at family gatherings, in the lessons passed down to his grandchildren, and in the blooming of each flower that grows in the gardens he once tended with love.
May we take comfort in the knowledge that Veremundo's journey was a full one, marked by the changing seasons of life that he so loved. His was a life well-lived, and his memory will be a beacon for all who seek to live with authenticity, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world.
