Arnold "Vinnie" Frey

Arnold "Vinnie" Frey passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and loved ones on February 4, 2022. Vinnie was born on May 12, 1939 to the late Arnold W. Frey and to the late Madeline (Armstrong) Frey. He grew up in Paterson, NJ with his brother the late George Frey, and it was there he met the love of his life, the girl next door, the late Loretta Kane. They were married for 55 years and resided in Haledon, and then Wyckoff for over 30 year
Vinnie worked tirelessly as a carpenter until he found his true calling to be a fireman. He proudly served the city of Paterson spending most of his 30 year career in Riverside Firehouse Ladder 3. He retired in 1999 as a Battalion Chief in Northside Battalion 3.
In addition to his love of being a fireman, Vinnie loved his cars and corvette, traveling and the beach, and spending time with dogs (especially german shepherds). Most days, Vinnie could be found laying on a float in his pool or, on a lounge chair by his pool, soaking up the sun.
He is survived by his daughter Gail (Frey) Grossi and his three granddaughters: Laura Incorvaia and her husband Robert, Beth Hoogerhyde and her husband Michael, and Stacy Grossi. He is also survived by his seven great grandchildren: Ava, Abigail, & Adalynn Incorvaia and Jackson, Ryder, Finn & Lilah Hoogerhyde. He is predeceased by his loving son-in-law, and friend, Craig Grossi. Visiting Thursday 3 - 7 pm with a funeral service at 6:00pm.
