Art Chester Jackson, the eldest child born to Mary Smith Jackson and James Arthur Jackson was born on June, 14, 1954. On Wednesday October 1, 2025, Art Chester departed this life at his home in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Art Chester was raised in Buckingham County, Virginia, and attended Buckingham County Public Schools. He joined Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age. He later became a professional bricklayer.
Art Chester or Art was known by many. He was a lover of people and people loved him in return. He was a caring soul, who would help others in any way that he could, even opening his home to many. He loved spending time with his family, laughing, telling jokes. He also loved football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and his independence. He especially loved fried chicken.
Art Chester was preceded in death by: his parents Mary Smith Jackson and James Arthur Jackson, and his brother Darnell Jackson. Art leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter JoyAna Weekly of Fairfax,
Virginia; six siblings, Gloria Jackson of New Canton, Virginia, Larry Jackson of Dillwyn, Virginia, Gary Jackson of Dillwyn Virginia, Della Claiborne (Clarence) of Laurel, Maryland, Velma Jackson of New
Carrolton, Maryland, Ricky Jackson (Jeannette) of New Carrolton, Maryland; a host of uncles, an aunt, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends; and a special friend, Faith Cabbell.
