Ray Tyree Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Reid's Funeral Home - Dillwyn from Oct. 1 to Oct. 7, 2025.
Ray Edward Tyree was born August 28th, 1961, to Edith Virginia Swann and George Edward Tyree in Charlottesville, Virginia. He grew up in Buckingham
County, Virginia with his late brother Winston Tyree (Paulette), late sister, Angela Tryee Johnson; and surviving brother, Terry Tyree (Estalene).
He attended Buckingham County Public Schools and later became a supervisor for a car wash business in Charlottesville, a custodian at UVA Hospital, and later a custodian for Buckingham County Public School System. He worked until his battle with Crohn's Disease became unbearable and forced him to retire.
In Ray's spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing the lottery, and cheering for his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins (now known as the Commanders).
He was a kind hearted and relaxed individual. He tried his best to live a humble and peaceful life. He never harmed anyone. You could always expect a laugh and a good time whenever was in your presence.
He was blessed to have: three children, Shawn Booker, Del-Monta Langhorne, and Ranesha Langhorne; David Smith (Del-Monta and Ranesha's older brother that he treated as a stepson); five grandchildren, Leah, Cameron, Kyren, Del'Siah, and
Kaleb; special friends, Winston, Terry, Angela, Kim, Kent, Shawn, and Barbara Ann. Ray was a wonderful father, grandfather, son, uncle, nephew, brother, and
cousin to many of his loving family members. He was blessed with a loving relationship with Denise and a true bond with Angela Langhorne. The family appreciates the time Ray had on Earth and take comfort in knowing that God welcomed him home on September 23rd, 2025.
