Arthur Abrams Obituary
Sonny was born March 11, 1948, in Watertown, son of Arthur H. and Flora M. (Netto) Abrams. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1967. He entered the United States Marines in 1968 and retired as a disabled veteran. He married Sharon Chavoustie on December 31, 1996. A previous marriage to Joanne Schafer ended in divorce.
Sonny enjoyed traveling in his motor home, summers at the family cottage in Sackets Harbor and spending time with his family and friends. He loved all of his animals; especially his current puppy's, Lilly and Lexi. Sonny and Sharon were soulmates and brought a lot of joy and love to each other. Sonny was loved by all.
Surviving besides his wife, Sharon, are his two daughters Dawn (Todd) DeLair, Kim (Joe) Barrett, both of Watertown, two step-sons Christopher (Sue) Bourn, Dexter, Todd (Ann) Bourn, Summerfield, NC, a brother, Timothy (Lisa) Abrams, Watertown, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 1pm at Holy Family Church. Arrangements are with D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A reception will follow at the VFW Post #1400, 231 Bellew Ave., Watertown at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sonny's name may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, PO Box 189, Box Elder, SD 57719. Or to the Jefferson County SPCA,25056 Water Street, Watertown, NY 13601, for his love of animals.
