Arthur Bowman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fairmount Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory on Mar. 10, 2026.
Arthur Spencer Bowman, Jr. of Denver, Colorado, passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 77.

Arthur was born on September 12, 1948, in Denver, Colorado, to Arthur Spencer Bowman, Sr. and Lawana Bowman, both of whom preceded him in death. He spent most of his life in Denver, where he built a respected career in the legal profession and became a well-known member of the local legal community.

Following in his father's footsteps, Arthur pursued a career in law. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado and later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1977 and practiced law for most of his professional life with the firm Bowman and Bowman, where he worked alongside his father until his father's passing. Known for his sharp intellect and eloquence, Arthur had a remarkable command of language and a deep appreciation for thoughtful conversation. Those who knew him well often admired both his intelligence and his uniquely articulate way of expressing himself.

Earlier in life, Arthur proudly served in the United States Navy, reflecting his sense of duty and commitment to service.

Arthur shared decades of family life with his former spouse, Cathy (Chatelain) Bowman. Together they raised their children and created many lasting family memories.

Outside of his professional life, Arthur had a deep love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hiking and spending time in nature, taking advantage of Colorado's mountains and natural beauty. He was also a member of the Mile High Clam Bake and Lobster Club, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships built over many years.

Arthur is survived by his children, Alex Bowman and Calina Bowman; his granddaughter, Lulu Bowman; his sister, Donna Bowman and her family; and his former spouse, Cathy Bowman.

Arthur will be remembered for his intelligence, thoughtful nature, and the many conversations and experiences he shared with family and friends throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
