Arthur Bryant Boyd

Mr. Arthur Bryant Boyd, age 88, of Ararat, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy. He was born on June 3, 1937 in Patrick County to the late George and Rosa Barnard Boyd. He was the owner of Boyd’s Restaurant for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will surely be missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years; Pauline Bowman Boyd; children, Kimberly Weddle (John), Rodney Boyd (Sheila); grandchildren, Aila Boyd, Jordan Weddle, Logan Weddle, Jessica Bryant, and Jill Boyd; brother, Robert Boyd as well as a special nephew, Bobby Harrell, and a host of other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by sisters, Iva Mae Wood and Mary Ervin; brothers, George L Boyd, Jay R. Boyd, Clarence Boyd, Alvin “Golda” Boyd, and John Boyd; grandson-in-law, Kyle Bryant. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Ararat Pentecostal Holiness Church with service conducted by Rev. Rickey Rogers. Burial will follow in Unity Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 PM until the time for the service at the church.
