Obituary
In Loving Memory of Arthur James Choates
Born on March 19, 1946 in Macon, GA, Art was known for his kind heart, unwavering support, and quiet strength. He taught us all the importance of hard work, the value of laughter, and the power of love. As a father, he was our guiding light, offering wisdom and warmth with every step we took. His ability to listen, offer advice, and simply be present is a gift that will remain in our hearts forever.
Art had a deep passion for entrepreneurship, music, movies and family. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him. He always put others before himself, giving generously of his time and heart. His infectious smile and easygoing nature made him a friend to many and a cherished member of our family.
He is survived by his daughters, Karon Choates Hurey and Kim McMillian, 10 grandchildren: Shanquita, Domonique, Andre, Anthony, Keith, Keisha, Kiana, Kaia, Justin, and Zach; his siblings, Larry, Stanley, Gil, Kirk, Fay and Ronnie; along with a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Clara, his mother and father, Exie and Arthur B. Choates, and his youngest brother, Tony Choates.
Though we are heartbroken by his passing, we find comfort in the memories of his love, his laughter, and his life. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met. We know that he will continue to live on in the stories we share, the lessons he taught us, and the love he gave.
Rest in peace, Dad. You will forever be in our hearts.
