Arthur Derderian Sr.

Arthur Derderian, age 91, a long-time resident of New Britain, CT passed peacefully Wednesday (30 July 2025). Arthur was born in Hartford, the son of the late Krikor and Rebecca (Paloulian) Derderian. Arthur was predeceased by his wife and love of his life of 62 years Margaret (Martino) Derderian. He was also predeceased by his brother Roger Derderian. He is survived by his brother Carl Derderian and wife Armenne of Watertown, MA, his sister Lucille Hamparian and her husband Harry of Don Mills, Ontario, Canada. Additionally, he leaves behind his children, son Anthony Derderian and wife Paula, daughter Rebecca Derderian Newman, son Arthur Derderian Jr and wife Alicia. He also leaves behind a great-granddaughter and several grandchildren. A graduate of the University of Hartford, he worked his entire adult life as a Typesetter, Stereotyper, and Color Scanner Operator at The Hartford Courant retiring in 1995. Arthur was involved in Scouting during his children's early years and had a great love of the outdoors and camping with his family. These times were his fondest memories.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday (August 5, 2025) at 11:00 AM in the Shaker-Hill Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave. New Britain. Committal and final resting place will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St. New Britain. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM just prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Arthur can be made to St. Stephen's Armenian Apostolic Church, 167 Tremont Street, New Britain, CT 06051.
