He loved being outdoors and collecting antiques. He worked hard with his hands in the construction field to provide for his family. Art adored his granddaughters. He loved Notre Dame football and Indiana basketball with a passion. Art was an Army Veteran. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers and was stationed in Fort Hood Texas. After his discharge, he intended to move back to Texas but as fate would have it, Julie Fujawa stole his heart. Art was a loyal man and a devoted son, wonderful brother, husband, father, grandpa Art and friend. He is so loved, and will always be in our prayers and hold a special place in our hearts. Art will be remembered for never knowing a stranger, being an adoring grandfather, and for his hard work ethic. He can now rest in peace and be reunited with the love of his life.
"May the road rise to meet you.,
May the wind always be at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the
Palm of his hand."
With respect to Arts wishes, cremation was chosen. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Benedicts Catholic Church on April 30th at 1pm. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. If so desired, donations can be made in Arts honor, payable to The Terre Haute Humane Society or Catholic Charities.
