Art grew up in Brooklyn, New York and was one of three children born to Mildred and Henry. Art loved his two siblings Tina and Bob and loved to share stories and memories of all the good and tough things that went along with growing up on the streets of New York City.
Art was ROCK AND ROLL through and through, it embodied absolutely everything that he was about. Art was a true Deadhead, it was the fabric of his soul. He enjoyed everything about music, the free essence of it, the transcending effect, the way it could turn strangers to friends instantly, spreading love throughout people of all cultures. From singing Doo-Wop in the hallways of Brooklyn to the psychedelic journeys that shaped his adult being. The Blues, Jazz and EVERTHING Rock and Roll, Art's passion for music was unparalleled.
Art was THE TELLER! He loved to read and write, he was an accomplished poet, author and a wordsmith to his core. He had a passion for freedom, whether it was the limitless freedom of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, the Jungles of Bocas in Panama or just the freedom to be, think and feel the way that each person deserved to, he was truly a free spirit.
Most of all, Art Loved his TRIBE! He loved to brag about his sister and his two grandchildren every day and would tell it to anyone who would listen. Hands down and without question, what Art valued the most of anything in his life was his FRIENDS, he felt eternally blessed to have the greatest friends in the world, it's what inspired and motivated him always and forever. It's what moved him across the country in 1972 and filled his heart for 82 years, through his toughest times and his very last days. Art loved his FRIENDS.
The world just lost a real treasure. but the universe gained a Titan of the light. We love you, Dad!
