Arthur “Art” was born on April 5, 1953, to Myrtle (Scheidt) and John Fode in Bismarck, ND.

He attended and graduated from Mobridge High School in South Dakota.

Shortly after high school, Art married and welcomed his first two children, James and Melissa. He later married Deborah Lawler, and through this union, they had two children: Shaun, and Jessie.

Art dedicated 52 years of his life to customer service, always known for his friendly demeanor and strong work ethic. For the last nine years of his career, he worked at Parkland LeRoy’s Tesoro.

He had a deep love for the outdoors. Art enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and—above all—spending time with his family. His faith was an important part of his life, and he was an active and devoted member of New Song Church.

Art is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Deb; children, James (Bree), Melissa (Brian) Kelly, Shaun (Rosann), and Jessie (Jason) Kershaw; grandchildren, Paityn, Kaylee, Christian, Mason, Rylie, Brennen, Reagen, Anika, Seth, Kingston, and Ainsley; great grandchildren, Benson, Clayton, Calvin, Huntley, and two on the way. He is also survived by seven siblings; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Betty Jean, and Margaret.
