Cumberland, MD-Arthur William Harrig passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, following those dear to him having the chance to say goodbye and share how much he meant in their lives. Born on April 12, 1948, to George Harrig and Margaret Harrig on Long Island, NY, Arthur lived a life full of dedication, passion, and love for those closest to him.
Arthur was a small business owner in IT, where his skill and commitment built a legacy of hard work. He leaves behind his devoted spouse, Christine Harrig, who cared for him during his battle with cancer. He is also survived by his daughter, Kim Lamey, and her husband, Brian Lamey; his son, Brian Harrig, and his wife, Kristin Harrig; his brother, George Harrig, and his life partner, Joy Keithline; along with five beloved grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
Arthur loved the outdoors and shared many of those joys with his wife, Christine. Biking became his greatest passion later in life, and he cherished riding alongside her. They also skied snowy slopes and golfed together, moments that strengthened their bond. Swimming was a solo pleasure he enjoyed, reflecting his independent spirit. Those who knew him respected his thoughtful nature and strength.
Arthur's family extends their gratitude to Christine for the care she provided throughout his illness, and to the medical professionals who supported him along the way.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church, 300 E. Oldtown Road, Cumberland, MD on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10:30 A.M.
