Arthur F. Jeczala

Resident of Schaumburg for 36 Years

Visitation for Arthur F. Jeczala, 88, will be Tuesday, March 17 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Michaels Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 800 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. Friends and family will meet at the funeral home Wednesday, March 18 at 9:45am for prayers before heading to Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30am at St. Gregory of Nyssa Parish, St. Marcelline Campus, 822 Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg. Interment to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.

Arthur was born February 9, 1938 in Chicago to the late Frank and Anna Jeczala, and he peacefully passed away surrounded by family March 10, 2026.

Arthur had a love for sailing and enjoyed spending time out on the water, where he could relax and take in the quiet and beauty around him. He especially loved sailing off the coast of Maine. In his younger days Arthur was a world traveler. His adventures took him to many far away tropical locations such as Micronesia, Fiji, Bora Bora, and the Galapagos Islands. However, Blackbird Caye in Belize was his favorite.

Retiring from the Chicago Northwestern Railroad after 38 years, Arthur volunteered at Spring Valley Nature Center in Schaumburg. In addition, he served as Program Committee Chairman for St. Hubert's New Beginnings group. Arthur was also an active member of St. Marcelline Church.

Loving brother of the late Dorothy (the late Henry) Swiatek, Lorene (the late Gerald) Ricketts; beloved uncle of Dennis (Joyce) Swiatek, Sandy (Bill) Norman, Melinda Ricketts, Dr. Jody Ricketts (Geoff) Butler, Dr. Randy Ricketts, and Amy Ricketts (Abel) Juarez; adored great-uncle of 6 and great-great-uncle of 4; dear friend to many. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
