Arthur Jero Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium on Jan. 26, 2026.
Arthur C. Jero, 79 of Beloit, WI passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 peacefully after a courageous battle with his health at the Suites of Beloit.

He was born on July 20, 1946 in Beloit, WI, the son of Chester "Chet" and Thresa "Tess" (Case) Jero. Art was a long-term resident of Beloit where he completed all of his years of schooling. He and Marilyn moved to New Richmond for a short period of time before returning to Beloit. They both felt the need to return to where the greatest number of family and friends resided.

Art started his working career with Warner Electric and then was the Plant Manager of Taylor Freezer until his retirement. Art was selfless; not only did he dedicate himself to his career, moreover he was committed to his family. He put the needs of family ahead of his own. Art cherished a vast network of friendships spanning decades. He was a member of Judson Baptist Church in his younger years. He was known for his honesty, capability of fixing and tinkering with things, keeping busy with yard work and landscaping. Art was an avid Green Bay Packer, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badger fan. He liked motorcycles, hill climbing, motocross, ice racing, music and dancing. Art enjoyed sports; both playing and spectating. For many years, Art played softball and was on a weekly bowling team. He was a family man and committed to his family. His unconditional love for family and friends carried over to his children and grandchildren. This was a trait he wished to be carried on. Art was considered a confidant and friend to many people who came to him for advice and guidance. You could always count on Art for honest answers.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marilyn Jero; children, Mark (Lana) Hauger, Neil (Denise) Hauger, Darcy (Sean) McEnroe, and Janna Jero; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Engebretson; many other relatives and friends.

Arthur was predeceased by his parents; son, Michael Hauger; sister, Gerri Nunn; and granddaughter, Heather Hauger.

We as a family would like to extend our gratitude to all of the staff that took care of Art each day. We also would like to extend our appreciation to Hospice for the care that they gave him throughout the last chapter of his life. We as a family could not have done this on our own.

A Funeral Service for Art will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, with Pastor Chris Carlson officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home.
