Art was born in Blytheville, AR on July 27, 1958 to Alton and Lula Mae (Johnson) Metcalf. He married Julie Johnson on August 24, 1996. He graduated from Blytheville High School in Arkansas and, then he attended Blackhawk College in Moline. Art worked as a security officer. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching sports, and working out at the YMCA.
Art is survived by his children, Justin Mahar of Las Vegas, NV, Jordan Metcalf of Davenport, Kaylee Metcalf, of Aledo; his former wife, Julie Metcalf of Aledo; five sisters, Eva M. (Joe W.) Morrison, Georgia (Henry) Ritchie, Luria (James) Madison, Ocie L. Metcalf, and Martha (Vancell) Lucas.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Isaiah, his siblings, Cleveland Metcalf, Donald Metcalf, Betty Murray, Andrew Metcalf, Albert Metcalf, Louis Brandson, Alton Metcalf Jr., Rosie L. Riteman, and Louis Metcalf.
