Obituary published on Legacy.com by Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. on Oct. 8, 2025.
With deep love and gratitude for a life so well lived, we remember Arthur Joseph "Art" Pesoli, who passed away on October 5, 2025, peacefully joining his beloved wife, Angeline T. Pesoli, in heaven, just four days shy of his 101st birthday.
Born on October 9, 1924, in Blossburg, PA, Arthur was the son of Magno and Nena (Bottini) Pesoli. Affectionately known by many as Art and lovingly called "GG" by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was the loving brother of Eugene Pesoli (deceased, 1990) and Cecelia Pesoli of Horseheads. A proud veteran, Arthur honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, an experience that instilled in him a lifelong sense of discipline, integrity, and service.
On November 30, 1946, Arthur married the love of his life, Angeline Pierotti, beginning a beautiful journey that would last 62 years until her passing in 2008. Together, they built a warm and loving home in
Corning, NY where they raised their two daughters, Carol (Jim) McClure of Big Flats and Debra (David) Holmes of Elmira. Their marriage was a true partnership, filled with laughter, faith, and the kind of love that strengthened everyone around them.
Art devoted 41 years to Corning Incorporated, where his strong work ethic and quiet dedication earned the respect of many. In retirement, he continued to live life fully, finding joy in the simple things. A lifelong bowler and golfer, he celebrated both a perfect game at Crystal Lanes, which led to his induction into the Bowling Hall of Fame, and a hole-in-one at Indian Hills Golf Club, moments that brought him immense pride and lasting stories to share.
Arthur was a true sports enthusiast who loved nothing more than watching a good game. His greatest joy, though, came from seeing his family in action, proudly watching his grandchildren, Steven (Leah) McClure of Chesterfield, VA, and Julie (Michael) Monahan of Horseheads, grow and shine in all they pursued. In later years, he could often be found on the sidelines or in the stands, cheering on his great-grandchildren, Kegan and Pyper Monahan of Horseheads, NY at baseball fields, basketball courts, lacrosse games, volleyball matches, and swim meets, always one of their biggest fans.
Arthur's unwavering love for his family was at the heart of everything he did. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy carried on by his two daughters and their husbands; his sister; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren-Brooke (Danny) Scott of Virginia, Demi McClure of Boston, MA, John McClure of Virginia, Peyton McClure of Boston, MA, Kegan Monahan, and Pyper Monahan-and two great-great-grandchildren, Harlowe and Harper Scott of Virginia. Each of them carries a piece of his love, wisdom, and gentle spirit forward.
Arthur was predeceased by many cherished family members and friends, including his nephew, Thomas Pesoli (2005). A devoted Catholic, he was a longtime parishioner of All Saints Parish in Corning, where his faith guided him throughout his life and provided comfort and purpose. He was genuine, loyal, and kind-a man whose quiet strength, gentle spirit, and steady faith left an impression on all who knew him. Even in his final days, he carried a sharp mind, a quick wit, and a vivid memory, living proof of a life well-loved and fully embraced.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Arthur's life at a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street,
Corning, NY. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning.
