Arthur L. Sopko passed away peacefully the morning of Sunday, January 11, 2026, in Hendersonville, North Carolina at the age of 77. He was born on December 2, 1948, in Illinois. He was a resident of Manhattan, Illinois, and North Port, Florida, before moving to Hendersonville in 2003.

He was a tool and die maker by trade, and his strong work ethic led to success with several organizations and in running his own business for many years.

In retirement, he found great joy in the craft of stained glass making, gardening, and bird watching. He created many pieces of stained glass art that he loved to gift to family and friends or consigned in local galleries. He deeply enjoyed the beauty of Western North Carolina and loved visiting the area's many landmarks and attractions.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Jean; wife, Diane, the mother of his three daughters; and his brother, Louis.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Holly (Cori) Calandra; Deborah (Seth) Sopko; and Rebecca (Mani) Sopko. He is also survived by his sister, Lynda (John) Spiracos; his brother, Michael; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts.

He also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren: Christopher Bloodsworth, Samantha Calandra, Anthony Calandra, Victoria Osborne and Parker Osborne.

He will be greatly missed and leaves us all a legacy of love, creativity, and determination. May he rest in peace.
