Arthur Wayne Davis Sr., of Essex County unexpectedly joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 4, 2025. 

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 10 years Bonnie Gouldin Davis; his children Arthur Wayne Davis Jr (Ginny), Stephanie Davis Campbell (Lee), Deborah Davis Hayes, William Kevin Davis and Nancy Ann Harrison; Grandchildren: Ashley, Tyler (Ally), Megan (Wade), Bethany, Wayne (Carter), Dustin, Deleann, Drake, Logan and Waylon; Great Grandchildren: Samuel, Jordan, Niko, Milleen, Monroe, Allison, William Pete, Michael, Hudson, Harmony, and Bowen; Stepdaughter: Jeans Owens (Derrick); Step Grandchildren: Tommy and Lizzie Owens, and Christopher Lacks; Brothers: Bernard N. Davis, of Richmond and Joseph D. Davis (Joyce) of Pauls Cross Roads. A special brother-in-law, Jimmy Carlton. A beloved niece, Vicki King and nephew, Johnny Davis (Doris). Numerous nieces and nephews and devoted pet Alphie. 

He is preceded in death by his dear wife of 39 years Betty Ann Davis; a daughter Sheila Ann Davis; twin grandchildren, Samantha Lynn and Christopher Vincent Davis; parents: William Washington and Virginia Kate Davis; sisters: Doris and Jean; brothers: Eddie, James, Lee, and John. 

Wayne is a member of Victory Baptist Church in Warsaw, where he served Jesus Christ with love and devotion. 

Services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock at 1pm. Family and friends will be received at 12pm. Burial will follow at the Davis Family Cemetery on Mussell Swamp Rd. Meal provided by Howertons Baptist Church. Pallbearers are Arthur Wayne Davis Jr, William Kevin Davis, John A. Davis Jr, LaRue (Lee) Wesley Campbell, Daniel Tyler Campbell, and Thomas Wayne Campbell. Honorary Pallbearer James Carey Carlton Jr. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Victory Baptist Church building fund, 4836 Richmond Road, Warsaw, VA, 22572.

This will not be farewell but until we meet again.
