Artwin C. Fullner

Funeral services for Artwin Fullner age 93 of Wisner, NE will be on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Interment with military honors will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Beemer, NE. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church and will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation in Artwin's name.
Artwin passed away on Sunday, December 22nd at the Wisner Care Center.
Artwin Carl Fullner was born January 17, 1931 on the family farm near Wisner, NE to Harry and Bertha (Heller) Fullner. He was baptized on February 1, 1931 and later confirmed on April 2, 1944 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Artwin attended Cuming County Rural School District #17. He started farming with his father, helped run the drag line during the straightening of the Elkhorn River, and hauled bricks while the current St. Paul Lutheran Church was being built.
Artie served in the United States Army during the Korean War from April 14, 1952 until he was honorably discharged on March 24, 1954. He returned to the family farm near Wisner, NE.
On May 13, 1956, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Abendroth at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. The couple continued farming while raising their children-Marlin, Marlene, Russell, and Rodney.
Artwin was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE, was a member of Beemer American Legion Post #159 and Wisner Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5767. He had served on the Farmer's Union Coop Board, on the school board for Cuming County Rural School District #17, and on the Blaine Township Board. He enjoyed tinkering with his antique machinery and attending farm sales.

Artie is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Artwin was preceded in death by his parents-Harry and Bertha Fullner, sisters-Lorraina Fullner, Evelyn and Marvin Buhrman, and Ione and Leroy Rubeck, grandson-Aaron Ruskamp, and son-in-law-Gerald Ruskamp.
