Ashley Nicole Smith

Ashley Nicole Smith, 36-year-old Vinita resident, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 3, 1989, in Grove to Carl Smith, Jr and Betty (Dykes) Smith-Owens. Ashley attended Vinita Schools growing up. She worked as an adult care aide at Home of Hope in Vinita.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Carl Smith, Jr.
The family includes her mother, Betty Owens and step-father, Sheldon Owens of Vinita; her daughter, Jadyn Brianna Nicole Nelson of Michigan; siblings, Joseph Carl Smith of Vinita, Cornelius Smith of Kenwood, Charles and John Baker of New Mexico, Haven Hurley of Vinita, and Carletha Smith of Baxter Springs, Kansas; numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
The celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita, with Pastor Justin Turner officiating.
